“Roundelay Birdsong, The Vivid Life” (I love Japanese shirts with English sayings on them that may sound silly to us but also sometimes manage to be quite poetic.  I saw this on a shirt during a visit to Tokyo and it’s stuck with me); colored filters on painted and textured boards, overall dimensions 46” X 28 1/2”, 2025.

The textures and colors in this piece vary considerably depending on how much ambient light there is, as seen in the photos below.
