BRIGHT BEER

 

This installation lit up a room at the Switchback Brewery on Flynn Avenue in Burlington, VT during the September 2021 Art Hop.  The primary feature of the room is an array of huge stainless steel tanks in which beer is fermented and aged (bright beer is the beer in a storage tank that’s ready to be bottled, and it seemed like an appropriate name for the installation).   To create this I glued up various combinations of colored light filters and attached them to rotating bases which were then lit with spotlights, shinning the various colors and shapes onto the stainless steel tanks and other features in the room.  The movement allowed for a constantly changing experience of the room as different shapes appeared, morphed into other shapes, changed colors and then moved on.
